Random Picker

Paste a list of options and let the picker choose one at random, or shuffle the whole list into a new order. Deciding where to eat, who goes first, or which task wins the day takes one click.

Step-by-step guide to the Random Picker

  1. Enter your options in the input box, one per line.
  2. Press pick random to select a single winner.
  3. Or press shuffle to reorder the entire list at once.
  4. Repeat as often as you like; every pick is independent.

Practical scenarios for the Random Picker

How the Random Picker works under the hood

The picker splits your input into options at line boundaries and uses the browser's random generator for its choices: single-pick mode selects one option uniformly, and shuffle mode applies a Fisher-Yates shuffle so every possible ordering is equally likely. Your list lives only in the current tab; nothing is uploaded, which matters when names or internal choices are involved.

What the Random Picker does not do

Each option must be on its own line; keep lines free of extra formatting so entries split cleanly.

Common questions about the Random Picker

Can it pick more than one winner?
Use shuffle mode and take the first entries for multi-winner draws.

Are the picks truly fair?
Each option has an equal chance on every pick, using standard uniform random selection.

Is my list stored?
No. Your options are processed in the browser and discarded when you leave.
